The Xbox One X is finally upon us, but is the world’s most powerful game console any good?
The short answer is yes, there have been many reviewers noting that the improved graphical performance is fantastic, and who doesn’t love faster loading times as well? Graphically speaking, the one of the most noteworthy facts about the new console is that it’s capable of running The Witcher 3 at 60FPS, which is excellent news for soon to be owners of the console.
Unfortunately, it looks like the support for the console could have been better from Microsoft, as there seems to be a gulf of new game titles to really generate excitement for the new console. Outside of Forza 7, there’s not really any stand out game that would demonstrate the new graphical power of the console that hasn’t been already released, and most likely played through, on another console.
As appealing as the idea of The Witcher 3 in 4k HDR at 60FPS sounds, I don’t think I can commit to playing through it all over again, even with the upgrade.
So, it seems like Microsoft have delivered an excellent piece of hardware on the market, but they could have very much capitalised on release day excitement with a few games worth getting excited for.
