For all of us, technology has become an intrinsic part of our everyday lives to the point of us being almost constantly available to contact and permanently linked to an internet connection. As this is the way that the world has moved, we now are ultra-reliant on electronic devices to manage our everyday lives and work.
Due to this, and the way that we all buy and use devices, there is unfortunately a huge cost to the environment. As the nature of the electronics market has changed to be more disposable in nature, this has contributed to a global e-waste issue. In the United States alone, over 10 million tonnes of electronic waste are generated annually, with shockingly only 12.5% of e-waste being properly recycled.
In 2010, we started iElectron to help people to continue using devices that have been damaged, rather than having to spend more money to replace them and adding to this global e-waste problem. Also, we wanted to meet customers need for constant connectivity, by providing a service to repair any damage to a device to an extremely high standard, minimising your downtime and the inconvenience of damaging your phone, laptop or other device.
On the back of this, we set out to provide our customers with the best protective cases, accessories and devices that we have used ourselves and have been road tested in by our staff and customers. Initially, we provided these accessories and advice to our customers in store, but due to the growth in the online side of our business, opened the iElectron webshop to provide this service to all of our nationwide customers.
